Final Band Information

Dear RHHS Band Families!

Well, better late than never. Here is the final information that you need before we see each other this week. I am so excited to get started, and there are just a few more things for each of you to do in order to be prepared:

  1. Assemble your Friday Night Live folder This is simply a thin (1/2-inch) 3-ring binder with 15 plastic page protectors. Please place your FNL music in the page protectors, and make sure the binder is clearly labelled with your name.

  2. Let me know which of the three rehearsals you will attend next week. You can do this by going to https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScyHac8a2K2Xtx5CV5HNL87zo0_Yqel3FPydTDsGEvf3Jp0Lw/viewform. You may have to log into your Google drive in order to access the document. One rehearsal is mandatory, and you are more than welcome to attend two or all three!

  3. Be sure that your instrument is in good working order, and that you have printed and practiced all of the music posted on our website. You will need to bring your instrument, music, and a pencil to next week’s rehearsal.

  4. Please read the attached Band Handbook. The last page needs to be signed and returned at this week’s rehearsal.

By now I assume that I have heard about any conflicts that you have with the year’s calendar, and I am thrilled to report that there are almost none. Full attendance at all rehearsals and performances is required for us to be at our best, and I truly appreciate the commitment that you are making!

I am also assuming that all instruments needs have been taken care of. This means that you either own or have signed-out everything that you need for both FNL and concert performances this year. For example, horn players have both a French horn and a mellophone…..euphonium players have both a euphonium and a bell-front “outdoor” baritone horn….etc.

Finally, I would like to invite any of my students to come by and help get the Band Room set up next week. There is LOTS to do, and I could definitely use some assistance today (Monday) or tomorrow between 12:30 and 2:30. Thanks for considering!

As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

Musically,

Mr. B.
